Second Version "Caught the Big Dipper"45 viewsCan't believe I got it, but I caught the big dipper on my digital camera. I have a Minolta Dimage Z1 and I took this picture with a huge amount of ambient light and it turned out quite well. I had to flip the image over to get the orientation right. I'm quite impressed with this camera.

Thank goodness for high speed digital cameras *digs at dads film camera*47 viewsAnyhow, I'd like to say this took hours of patience waiting for the right bird to fly directly overhead, but I just snapped this on impulse on sport mode. The back edges of the wings aren't a blur, they are translucent. Pretty cool if I do say so myself.

Just thought it was pretty.46 viewsInteresting that since it was a Macro shot (ie really friggin close to the lense) the foreground and the background are quite blurry. This was on the hike that we took the day before the sailing trip.
