My sleeping area55 viewsNote specific luxury items: DVD player, TV (with AFN Armed Forces Network; the bucket is for the leaking air conditioner), laptop (most people don't have one or didn't bring it, personal area light (with low vis red bulb), safe for valuables (very few people have one of these), red LED glow stick for power outage lighting, air conditioning (with remote on bed frame corner), 9mm (most people have to lug around a rifle), drawer storage box, Iridium satellite phone with 1,000 free minutes a month (one of maybe 3 on a base with a few thousand people on it, I think the other two are personally owned and paid for), Jordan Armed Forces RPG box used as a foot locker, my own rug, a string to pull my curtain shut, and of course an actual (creaky) bed. A lot of people are on cots in a tent like the other bed pictured in this album. This stuff is taken for granted, but most people especially here don't have these luxuries.
